KWASUTH Marks World Oral Health Day

The Dental Department of Kwara State University Teaching Hospital (KWASUTH) has joined the global community to commemorate World Oral Health Day.

Speaking on this year’s theme, “A Happy Mouth is a Happy Life”, the Head of Dental Clinic, Dr Adebayo Kehinde, emphasised that good oral health is essential to the overall well-being of human beings and helps prevent infections and other health complications.

He advised the general public to maintain good oral hygiene by brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, reducing sugary intake, and regular visits to dental professionals for check-ups.

The Department also encouraged parents to instil healthy oral habits in children early, stressing that prevention is more effective and affordable than treatment.

KWASUTH reaffirmed its commitment to quality dental care and urged residents to take advantage of its services for a healthier life.

World Oral Health Day is observed annually on March 20 and focuses on the need for the general public to prioritise proper oral hygiene.
